On one hand, it was outstandingly cool how they would play with sound and lighting dynamics. The contrast of colors was incredible. Everything was fluorescent on a black background. The sounds were made using the most interesting percussion instruments -PVC piping.
On the other hand, it was a screamingly funny production. They had a genius play on awkwardness and a lot of the “wtf” factor. The fire extinguisher scenes were hilarious. Basically, they tried to get this girl from the audience to light a candle with a lighter. In the background, you just see one of the blue men bringing out a fire extinguisher and once she gets closer to the candle, he blows the fire extinguisher all over her. The girl screamed in shock. And then they revealed that the candle was electric, so she didn’t even need a lighter… so funny.
And on a third hand, the show just had a lot of “wow” factor. There were a lot of things that you would never see in any other show. At one point, they took a guest from the audience, put him in white coveralls, and put a jelly filled helmet on him. Then, they poured blue paint on him, hung him upside down, and pushed his entire body onto a canvas so that the blue paint they had poured on him would make an impression of his body on the canvas. So cool!
Can’t wait till I’m done. Can’t wait till I’ve got more time to chill. =)
